The difference between the new BC chum and other regular fishing chum (Purina tropical fish food, dog food, cat food) is the performance. This chum sinks in as much as 100' of water without the need to mix it with anything, but then it begins to float back to the surface! When it reaches the surface it then begins to slowly sink again.
